In 2015, SunLeaf faced a host of challenges as they looked to innovate and digitally transform with Salesforce and Corrao Group. SunLeaf described its business processes to Corrao Group as a manual process that is long and archaic. Kevin Eggert, CEO of Sun Leaf, claimed their process as “One I strive to forget.” SunLeaf ran its business on three different technology systems: ERP, Contact Management, and Documentation.
Using a dated ERP system, SunLeaf found its technology to be cumbersome, not flexible, and costly to maintain. SunLeaf employees were constantly fixing bugs and when they needed to extract information, it was described as “painful at best.” SunLeaf never had full confidence they were getting accurate reports and financials from their system. Managing pricing between Suppliers, Logistics and Customers was also an area of concern because SunLeaf wasn’t confident in the system's ability to compute accurate profitability. Not only were they unable to find the necessary resources to accomplish everyday tasks, but employees would have stacks of paper they would filter through a machine to get important documents into the cloud. These inefficiencies took time away from more important tasks they could be doing to help SunLeaf grow revenue.
SunLeaf needed to consolidate the existing three technology systems into a single system powerful enough to accomplish its everyday tasks. SunLeaf’s solution involved ramping up and innovating its ERP and Salesforce platform with Corrao Group to be more proactive and customer-centric.
SunLeaf understood Salesforce out-of-the-box wouldn’t work as they needed a business application that was built specifically custom to their business. When the project kicked off, Corrao Group conducted an on-site Business Process Review meeting with SunLeaf to develop a clear understanding of their sales, inventory, procurement & fulfillment management business cycles to form the foundation of our recommendations for the implementation of Salesforce and ERP system The meetings were conducted to review and understand all processes related to order management, quoting process, catalog management, sales management, and more. After providing our report of findings to SunLeaf, Corrao Group installed and configured Salesforce and AscentERP to SunLeaf’s custom business processes.

Salesforce Optimization
Corrao Group optimized and tailored standard Salesforce objects such as Accounts, Contacts, and Cases toward the processes of SunLeaf. Numerous automation and workflows were built to help SunLeaf become more efficient and productive with their time. Additionally, Corrao Group built advanced reports and dashboards that provided visibility into every aspect of Sun Leaf’s business. The reports provided real-time data and feedback for SunLeaf’s team to stay on top of necessary tasks and make critical changes to boost revenue and track KPIs.
Lightning Transition
In 2019, Salesforce announced a new user-friendly interface, Lightning. The Salesforce Lightning experience helps users build apps faster, create custom business logic, customize the user interface, and more. Corrao Group helped SunLeaf make the transition from the Classic interface to Lightning. Setting up Lightning layouts, pages, and automation for SunLeaf allowed their business to run quicker as it helped improve user usability, functionality, and productivity. With a few simple clicks, all the information and crucial data (Trade agreements, purchase orders, sales order lines) SunLeaf needed was on one dashboard.
The Salesforce platform was designed to help SunLeaf gain visibility into its business, customers, and suppliers. Easier navigate, SunLeaf’s employees have seen the benefits of using a cloud-based system, especially while working remotely. In January 2020, SunLeaf experienced a major flooding issue causing their office to be shut down. To have a cloud-based system they could all log into and complete their work was a game changer. SunLeaf was able to complete all their work, communicate within the company in real-time, and be successful from their home offices.
When COVID-19 hit, businesses all around the world began to go into survival mode as offices shut down. Salesforce made it easy for SunLeaf to work from home and have all of the information needed available in real time. SunLeaf knew way before COVID-19 that the intent for Salesforce was to keep them connected and keep the workflow in a steady stream. To SunLeaf, COVID-19 solidified the true meaning of working remotely without a hitch with Salesforce.
Since its digital transformation in 2015, SunLeaf has been able to see growth both internally and externally.
